What Is The Difference Between Human And Civil Rights?

What Is The Difference Between Human And Civil Rights?

Each individual has certain fundamental rights that are inherent or have been obtained by the constitution.

Human rights and civil rights are the 2 basic rights that are often debated. Both human rights and civil rights have their characteristics and features.

Human rights are those rights that a private enjoy because he’s human. No government agency, group or person can deprive the human rights of an individual.

Some basic human rights are the right to life, fair trial, education, protection against torture and freedom of expression.

Human rights were invented shortly after the Second World War. Human rights were widely accepted after the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Civil rights are rights that an individual enjoys based on citizenship. Civil rights have the protection of the constitution. Civil rights protect the individual against discrimination and unjustified action by others, the government or an organization. With a philosophical and legal basis, civil rights are an agreement between the nation and the individual.

We relate civil rights to the constitution of each country, while we consider human rights a universal right. While human rights are fundamental rights inherent in birth, civil rights are the creation of society.

Although human rights do not change from country to country, civil rights vary from country to country. Civil rights are in principle dependent on the laws of the country.

Human rights are universally accepted rights no matter nationality, religion, and ethnicity. Civil rights fall within the limits of the legislation of a country and belong to social, cultural, religious and traditional norms.
