Nerf Rival Hades XVIII-6000 Review

The Nerf Rival Hades XVII-6000 is a blaster in the Phantom Corps sub-series that is powered by a spring and pump-action mechanism. It has the ability to fire single shots or use slam fire.

The Hades is a medium to large-sized weapon with a similar size, shape, and internal workings as the Rival Artemis. It has a built-in magazine that can hold 60 rounds.

This review of the Rival Hades will provide an overview of its top features and share a personal opinion.

The Nerf Rival Prometheus blaster is available for purchase on Amazon.

What Is the Nerf Rival Hades?

The Hades XVIII-6000 is a 60-round blaster in the Phantom Corps sub-series of the Rival range of blasters. It was first released in 2018 and operates with both single mode and slam mode firing capabilities.

The Hades is named after an ancient Greek God and features an integrated magazine with a capacity of 60 rounds. Additionally, it comes with two straps in the colors red and blue, which is convenient for team battles.

The Hades is similar to the Rival Artemis XVII-3000 that was released in 2017, but the Hades is slightly larger with a bigger magazine.

I have been a fan of the compact and robust Artemis and will now see if I like the Nerf Rival Hades just as much.

  • The high capacity blaster comes with 60 high-impact rounds.
  • The blaster has an integrated magazine that can hold up to 60 rounds and is easy to load.
  • The blaster features a spring-action mechanism, trigger lock, and tactical rail.

3 Reasons You Need the Hades

Here is my review of the Nerf Rival Phantom Corps Hades.

1. Large Magazine

The magazine capacity of the Hades, with 60 rounds, is a significant improvement compared to the 30-round capacity of the Artemis.

The integrated magazine of the Hades consists of three non-removable, tube-style magazines, each holding 20 rounds. Due to the size of these long tubes, the Hades is considered a large Nerf blaster.

To load the rounds into the three tubes, use the slider at the top to access the slots of the tubes. Each of the three magazines needs to be loaded separately.

Although the loading process is relatively simple, it does require some time to fully load all three magazines. On the other hand, loading the Rival Nemesis or Prometheus is easier and faster as their magazines only have one large opening at the top.

2. Priming and Firing Joy

Some pump-action Nerf blasters may not function as effectively as desired, but the Nerf Rival Hades is exceptionally enjoyable to prime and shoot.

The priming handle is locked into position once primed, and remains so until the firing trigger is pulled. The process of priming and firing, whether in single or slam fire mode, is smooth and sturdy.

The Hades also includes an un-jamming button on the side, which allows you to unlock the priming handle in the event of a jamming issue, although this is rare.

The muzzle at the front of the weapon is made up of four smaller barrels that rotate. This rotation assists in pulling the next round out of the magazine, serving as part of the feeding mechanism.

Only one of the four barrels in the blaster is capable of firing rounds, specifically the bottom barrel. However, the remaining three barrels are non-functional. Despite this, the front of the blaster, with its rotating effect, has an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

3. Superb Ergonomics

The Nerf Rival Hades is known for its exceptional ergonomic design.

The functionality and build quality of the Hades blaster are excellent, resulting in a strong and reliable performance.

The Hades Nerf blaster may not be the most suitable for smaller kids due to its large size and length.

Final Thoughts

I like the Hades and Artemis blasters equally. They have similar quality and performance. The Hades has a larger internal magazine. However, I prefer the Artemis for no specific reason, maybe because I like compact-sized blasters. I also prefer the color scheme of the Artemis over the Phantom Corps blasters.

The Hades is a high-quality Rival blaster that performs exceptionally well. It offers comfortable ergonomics, smooth priming and firing, attractive aesthetics, and an impressive capacity of 60 rounds.

One potential drawback of the Hades is its slightly lower firing velocity compared to other Rival blasters. However, this should not be seen as a significant issue as the firing performance of the Hades remains impressive when compared to most non-Rival Nerf blasters.

The Nerf Rival Hades XVIII-6000 is included in my list of the best Nerf Rival blasters ever made because I really like it.
