5 Best Nerf Elite 2.0 Guns (2024 Best Guide)

Reviews of the five best Nerf Elite 2.0 blasters are based on how well they work, their overall design, how sturdy they are built, how many darts they can fire before reloading, and their cost.

The Elite 2.0 series of Nerf guns follows the very successful N-Strike Elite series that Nerf started selling in 2012.

Guns in the Elite 2.0 series have a new color pattern, can fire more darts before reloading, and have more spots to attach tactical rails and other accessories.

In this article, I’ll explain in more detail what this series is all about, and I’ll share what I think are the five top Elite 2.0 guns.

About Nerf 2.0

First hitting stores in 2020, Nerf Elite 2.0 follows the N-Strike Elite series. But many feel Elite 2.0 is a step down from Elite for a few reasons, which I’ll explain.

Nearly all Elite 2.0 blasters have a new teal and orange color pattern. Another Elite 2.0 feature is they usually include extra rails and attachment points, and hold more darts too.

These are all promising upgrades, but overall, Elite 2.0 has so far been a bit underwhelming.

One major Elite 2.0 drawback is how the guns are built. Instead of screws, Elite 2.0 blasters are glued together, hurting the total quality and making fixes and changes way harder.

Another complaint is the plastic used seems more fragile, causing more problems like jammed doors and springs breaking.

However, some newer Elite 2.0 models have been of better quality. And while the quality may have been disappointing, Elite 2.0 guns are typically affordable and may appeal more to younger Nerf fans.

Elite 2.0 Dart

Elite 2.0 Dart

Nerf launches a fresh Elite 2.0 series and a new dart to match. However, the Elite 2.0 Dart works much the same as the trusted Elite Dart. It simply sports a trendy teal and orange color scheme upgrade.

Fortunately, the 2.0 Dart’s redesign is only visual – it fits all NERF Elite blasters and sub-series without issue. Likewise, the Elite 2.0 blasters take the original Elite Darts as usual. True compatibility all around.

Sub Series

So far NERF has debuted two Elite 2.0 sub-series:

  • Flipshots (2021) blasters uniquely feature rotating barrels, packing in more darts per reload.
  • Meanwhile, Wild Edition (2022) weapons flaunt a radical blue exterior, unlike standard Elite. Same performance though.

Top 5 Nerf Elite 2.0 Blasters (2024)

1. Nerf Elite 2.0 Motoblitz CS-10

Nerf Elite 2.0 Motoblitz CS-10

The Motoblitz CS-10 blaster boasts flywheel-powered semi-auto firing plus a 10-dart clip. An additional front-load shotgun barrel holds 6 darts to unleash at once.

Essentially a 2-in-1 weapon, the Motoblitz offers two distinct firing modes: the front air-powered shotgun blasts out all loaded darts simultaneously. Meanwhile, the semi-auto acceleration trigger systematically shoots up to 10 clip-fed darts.

Operating the old-school shotgun means first pumping up the internal air tank before shooting. While gimmicky, shotgun blasting darts is a total blast and works effectively too.

The Motoblitz takes my top Elite 2.0 spot for its dual-firing functionality coupled with strong overall performance. Another major upside is cross-compatibility with most N-Strike magazines to upgrade ammo capacity.

Requires 4 AA batteries, not included.

2. Nerf Elite 2.0 Turbine CS-18

The Nerf Elite 2.0 Turbine CS-18 packs flywheel-powered, fully automatic firing coupled with an 18-dart clip. As with the Motoblitz, most larger N-Strike magazines also fit the Turbine CS-18 thanks to cross-compatibility.

Now the included 18-dart Turbine clip itself suffers random dart feed issues, unfortunately. So tapping your existing Nerf magazine collection is advisable to enhance performance.

Additionally, the magazine release mechanism disappoints ergonomically. However, the overall blaster feels smooth and comfortable to handle during rapid-fire sequences.

Despite a few deficiencies, I’m still rather fond of the Turbine CS-18. It delivers as a fully-auto beast, achieves impressive functionality, and looks awesome to boot. Requires 4 C batteries, not included.

3. Nerf Elite 2.0 Flipshots Flip-32

Nerf Elite 2.0 Flipshots Flip-32

The spring-action Nerf Elite 2.0 Flipshots Flip-32 packs a 32-dart rotating magazine split into two flip-able compartments.

That’s right, a distinct flip feature defines the Flip-32, like all Flipshots series blasters under the Elite 2.0 umbrella. And I must say it’s a wonderfully novel and practical function that operates smoothly.

Loading occurs by inserting darts into the front barrel system. Press the safety button to activate rotation, then pull the vertical grip to spin the barrel.

Happily, the rotating barrel mechanism holds up incredibly well under rapid-fire pressure without jamming up. Now performance falls a bit short of top N-Strike and Elite offerings.

Lever-action priming preps firing while the trigger launches 1 or 2 darts. Though not the most powerful, the Flip-32 rocks as a super enjoyable and unique addition to your Nerf artillery.

4. Nerf Elite 2.0 Eaglepoint RD-8

Nerf Elite 2.0 Eaglepoint RD-8

The Nerf Elite 2.0 Eaglepoint RD-8 blaster features a spring-powered, bolt-action firing mechanism paired with a built-in revolving cylinder magazine capable of holding eight foam darts ready to fire.

Additionally, the shoulder stock attached to the rear of the blaster contains storage for holding up to eight extra darts for substantially expanded ammo capacity. The priming handle has been screwed into place on both the left and right sides of the blaster, allowing for fast, easy, and lightweight cocking of the firing action for rapid shooting.

Much like with the Commander RD-6 model, this Eaglepoint RD-8 can selectively fire in either standard single-shot mode or rapid-fire full-auto slam fire mode.

Overall, I would say the Eaglepoint RD-8 is a reasonably good purchase given its price level. While it lacks any truly special or standout features, it’s a nice-looking blaster that performs adequately on par with competitors in the same range. It effectively accomplishes its core functions without issue but isn’t anything extraordinary either.

5. Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6

Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6

The Nerf Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 blaster is a compact, revolver-style toy gun with a built-in 6-dart magazine. I have included this particular Nerf blaster on my list of top recommended Nerf brand toy pistols.

This RD-6 model offers versatility, allowing the user to fire either single shots or rapid-fire full-auto slam-fire shots using the spring-powered priming handle located on top of the blaster.

The revolving 6-dart drum magazine is securely integrated into the blaster body itself and provides onboard storage for 6 Nerf foam darts, with 12 total darts included within the original packaging at purchase.

Overall, I find the Elite 2.0 Commander RD-6 to be a sturdy and well-constructed toy pistol that delivers good overall performance and comfortable ergonomics.

The processes of loading ammo, cocking the priming mechanism, and firing darts are smooth and seamless. The firing velocity of around 70 to 80 feet per second is quite decent for a little pistol-sized blaster.
